Position Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join R&D at Croda Inc. The Research Chemist – Synthesis will be responsible for synthesizing new materials such as esters, amides, alkoxylates, non-EO surfactants, etc in support of the applications research groups. The individual will be expected to operate a safe and effective formulation/application laboratory complying with all of Croda’s Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures, work closely with the applications groups and the synthesis team in Edison, develop and manage projects supporting identified technology platforms and a 3 year business strategy, attend business team and department meetings to ensure and maintain alignment with business objectives and to move projects to completion, manage multiple laboratory projects concurrently and on schedule, perform laboratory work at least 90% of the time, meet with internal customers up to 10% of the time, develop reports, update project database, record results in lab notebook, file patent invention disclosures, support R&D/PD processes, and make presentations. All other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills, Experience and
Education:
The qualified candidate must posses a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry or related technical field. 3+ years experience with hands-on industrial organic synthesis experience. Strong presentation and technical writing skills with proficiency in MS office suite required.
