Development Scientist

Position Summary:

An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Process Development Team at Croda Inc.   The Development Scientist will be responsible for developing new and existing processes for production on site under guidance of their manager. Responsibilities include optimizing site manufacturing processes from laboratory to full scale production, in support of the site’s requirements, identifying programs and to deliver creative solutions by undertaking detailed investigations with other departments on site to maximize the right first time rate and process efficiencies, providing technical support to the production department, producing samples for dispatch and evaluation by customers as requested by the sales team, ensuring process documentation is maintained to the appropriate standard as required by the site. All other duties as assigned by management.   

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

The qualified candidate must possess a Bachelor Degree, in Chemistry or science related field.  Minimum of 3 years experience in a chemical manufacturing plant/lab setting. Knowledge of site processes, planning and organizing. Basic engineering or mechanical understanding of a chemical manufacturing plant is helpful. Proficient in MS Office and Excel, SAP or equivalent systems. Must have strong problem solving, oral and written communication skills.
