| Derived from wool fibers shorn from New Zealand sheep, Keratec PEP is a "semi-reactive" keratin protein designed to moisturize and condition the hair. Containing an unusually high level of cystine, it is inherently charged, giving it semi-reactivity in oxidative/reductive-type environments; therefore, it can bond with the hair fiber, providing permanent conditioning. As such, it is an ideal protein for use in hair color, bleaching or permanent wave systems and is suitable for pre- and post-treatment products. |
