Silicones are popular ingredients in
personal care products as they provide great feel and increased shine.
Possessing these properties as well, Crodamol STS works very well as a
cyclomethicone or dimethicone replacement. But, where these ingredients
might cause a formulator difficulties in stability or problems in emusifying,
Crodamol STS is easily incorporated as shown below in a Phase Separation Time

As demonstrated above,
when Crodamol STS was compared to C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate and Dimethicone,
in a 50:50 mix in water, it was more easily dispersed in water without the
need for an emulsifier. This results in more stable
emulsions and dispersions with lower emulsifier requirements. |
